TrailGuides is seeking compassionate, dedicated Christian college students for the role of a Mentor. This unique opportunity involves mentoring teens through their formative years using virtual platforms like text messaging and phone calls. The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to their faith, a heart for youth ministry, and the ability to build meaningful relationships remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Build Relationships: Establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with teens through regular virtual interactions. Be a reliable, trustworthy, and understanding figure in their lives.
- Spiritual Discipleship: Guide teens in their spiritual journey, offering biblical wisdom, prayer support, and encouragement in their faith walk.
- Personal Development Guidance: Assist in the personal and emotional development of teens, helping them navigate challenges and celebrate successes in their teenage years.
- Resource Provision: Connect teens with Christian resources, literature, and community events that aid in their spiritual growth.
- Regular Check-ins: Conduct scheduled and impromptu calls and texts to ensure consistent engagement and support.
- Mentorship Training: Participate in mentor training programs to enhance your skills in guiding and supporting teens.
- Feedback and Reporting: Provide regular feedback to the TrailGuides team on the progress and needs of the mentees and participate in team meetings for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Current Enrollment in a College or University: Actively pursuing a degree with a solid academic standing.
- Strong Christian Faith: Demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith and a lifestyle that reflects biblical principles.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Proficiency in empathetic, clear, and effective communication via text and phone calls.
- Experience in Youth Ministry (Preferred): Previous involvement in youth groups, camps, or similar settings is advantageous.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using virtual communication tools and maintaining confidentiality and privacy in digital interactions.
- Time Commitment: Ability to dedicate a specific number of hours each week for mentoring activities.
